About the Artist

Picture
Our Artist – David March Douglas

We are privileged to be working with the artist David Douglas.

He originally came to the field of Pleistocene megafauna through the Fossil Discovery Center of Madera, California. He spent three months surviving alone in the Kings River SMA during the winter of 2009/2010, and returned with a new insight into the lives of wild animals and the environments they inhabit.

His primary focus is bringing a naturalistic edge to the field of scientific rendering, as if the images had been taken by a camera in the distant past. The landscape of the area depicted  is as much a character as the subjects in it; local landmarks and terrain are common features in each image.

Bridging the gap between the scientific and dramatic is the ultimate aim of his work.

You can see more of his work and contact him through his website.
